EPISODE 18
Ochoa, a family-run and innovative winery
Today we talk to Adriana and Beatriz Ochoa, the two sisters who run Bodegas Ochoa, in Olite, Navarra. They are the sixth generation of this winery founded in 1845.
Long before Falcon Crest, it was known that the mix of wine, family and business can be tricky. And yet, the family winery is a classic in the industry. Poorly run, a family business can be the worst nightmare. But well run, it is a magic formula in which a very cohesive group with a common goal can be unstoppable.
In this conversation we talk about:
➔ Generational change and how to resolve conflicts by separating business and family.
➔ Innovation as a business mantra.
➔ Their transition to organic certification.
